 Assembled stepper motor.

Home made Coupling. Stepper motor side is bored to 6,2 mm diameter and leading screw side is drilled with an 8 mm drill bit.  

 You first do the drilling on your lathe and then hold your piece on your milling drilling machine. 

If you don't have 1 or 2 mm width slitting saw a dremmel's thin abrasive wheel will help you do some cutting. Be carefull it's extremily easy to brake and through away.
